We are currently working on creating an online database that includes books, films, magazines, musical scores, theses, and other materials with a Roma perspective and topics relevant to Roma. The platform is expected to be ready by January 31st. Keep following us for updates!
We have created a preliminary example of how the database may look, but we aim to improve and customize it for the best user experience. Would you like to participate in the development of this database or contribute materials and ideas? Please feel free to contact us through our contact page.

From Victimhood to Citizenship-The Path of Roma Integration

The Path of Roma Integration – A Debate

During over two decades of activism in post-communist democracies, András Bíró, a renowned Hungarian journalist and human rights activist, reflected on the situation of Roma people in Eastern Europe. These thoughts generated responses from scholars like Nicolae Gheorghe from Romania and Martin Kovats from the European Commission in Brussels. The authors candidly discuss the conflict between human rights and ‘traditional’ Roma culture, as well as explore the challenges associated with the term ‘Roma’ and Roma politics. Their text, along with discussions at a workshop, can be found in the book’s fourth chapter and will serve as a significant reference point for future debates on pro-Roma policies in the midst of Europe’s crisis.
